Standardize and secure your exchanges
In the digital age, automating the exchange of data between your information system and those of your partners using Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) delivers tangible performance benefits.
Communicating easily with partners, customers and suppliers has become absolutely indispensable. When you implement standardised data interchanges, data circulates more easily and your employees do not waste productive time wondering who to contact and where to find out what is happening…
However, to achieve these efficiency and performance benefits, it is important to build your service-oriented architecture (SOA) using standardised and reusable data interchange components.
Rather than continuing to work with separate application silos, and to suffer from interface spaghetti syndrome in data interchanges between applications, implementing a service-oriented architecture (SOA) allows you to rationalise interfaces and reduce issues around application maintenance and upgrades thanks to the ideas of pivot formats and semi-interfaces.
01THE PITFALLS
Blueway makes creating a service-oriented architecture (SOA) simple
The Blueway platform includes all the tools needed to communicate with third parties in terms of data handling and integration, such as EDI, EAI, ETL, and so forth, as well as the aspects surrounding data and service publication through an API gateway for interchanges with customers and suppliers.
Using standardised Blueway connectors (for EDIFACT, EDIPharm, Inovert, Galia, HL7, etc. or with the main ERP and CRM systems on the market), you can provide application interchange services in accordance with expected business formats. Sophisticated functions convert each of these messages using XML pivots, making management of data exchanges (formatting, validation of data sent, message completeness, any customer-specific adaptations, etc.) a straightforward matter.
The transport layer can be AS1, AS2, AS3 or AS4 (Applicability Statement security specifications 1 to 4) depending on what your partners prefer, thereby ensuring entirely secure transport regardless of the protocol used (SMTP, HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, etc.).
The data interchange dimension in the form of an API is natively present on the platform thanks to our dedicated API Management module.
02METHODS AND SOLUTIONS
Including a collaborative portal in your service-oriented architecture (SOA)
If you communicate with third parties and wish to offer your partners structured exchanges in a more flexible way that ensures a successful user experience, the best solution is to set up a collaborative portal.
The integrated Blueway platform consequently provides many tools enabling you to establish communication that is appropriate to each of these issues, and to integrate them within a data interchange and services portal :
Providing web services
Business functional connectors
Flat files or XML
Sending a URL to allow a partner to open a data entry screen
Portal connector to retrieve data from an extranet
