All business processes and decision-making depend on access to unified, high-quality, accessible data. It is also, quite simply, the foundation for ensuring that information is consistent and rapidly accessible throughout the organisation!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Of course, the importance of this subject is only growing.<\/strong> It is affecting more and more organisations, driven by the development of hybrid information systems, Cloud infrastructures and, more recently, the increasing exploitation of data by AI (Artificial Intelligence) solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What tools and technologies are involved in data integration?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>There are a large number of tools in the field of data integration, either directly involved in the integration process, or upstream or downstream of the process.<br><strong>The areas impacted are therefore varied: data mapping, identification of data sources, analysis, extraction, cleansing, transformation, manipulation, ingestion, synchronisation\u2026<\/strong> right through to governance, migration of Information Systems (external growth, Move To Cloud\u2026), management of reference data or its exposure to the ecosystem!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is a non-exhaustive list of data integration tools:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.blueway.fr\/en\/blog\/esb-etl\">ETL (Extract, Transform, Load)<\/a><\/strong>, which automates the process of extracting data from multiple sources, transforming it and loading it into a target destination such as a data warehouse.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>ELT (Extract, Load, Transform)<\/strong>, similar to ETL (you can tell by looking at the two acronyms!) except that the data is transformed after being loaded into the database.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Change data capture (CDC)<\/strong> is used to automatically capture data changes in a source, and transmit these changes in real time to a target system.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Middleware, integration platform and Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) <\/strong>to facilitate application integration and communication between application systems.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.blueway.fr\/en\/challenges\/api-management\">A<strong>PI Management to govern the exposure of data<\/strong><\/a> and services to the ecosystem (customers, partners, suppliers, etc.) as well as to internal applications.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.blueway.fr\/en\/challenges\/master-data-management-mdm\">Master Data Management (MDM)<\/a> <\/strong>to ensure the uniqueness of data (reference data) within the Information System.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Cleansing tool<\/strong> to detect and correct corrupt or inaccurate data in a dataset<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Storage and warehousing solutions<\/strong> (Data Lake, Data Warehousing\u2026) to consolidate large quantities of data from a wide range of sources.
